PRIVATE DONATIONS LEAD TO PURCHASE OF AEDS FOR LOCAL SCHOOLS 6/19/2017 2:18:03 PM
Seven of the fifteen schools in St. Thomas will have Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs) in them this fall. This comes after a meeting on Friday with St. Thomas City Councilor Joan Rymal and representatives from both the London District Catholic School Board, Thames Valley District School Board, St. Thomas Fire Department and Elgin St. Thomas EMS.
The defibrillators are being purchased thanks to private donors and not taxpayers money.
Councilor Rymal says that she is very proud of the donations.
Each unit costs $1,600 which the school boards are purchasing. Rymal is very optimistic that she will have enough donations so that all schools have a defibrillator by the fall. Anyone who wishes to make a donation is asked to contact Councilor Rymal.
