HEALTH UNIT TRIES TO CLEAR UP RUMOURS REGARDING VACCINE MIX UP 4/13/2018 10:41:28 AM
The Elgin-St. Thomas Public Health Unit is letting the public know of a mix up in vaccinations at two local schools.
The vaccine administration error occurred in the grade 7 school immunization program.
The error occurred in a group of 11 students at Straffordville Public School and in a group of 4 students at Assumption Catholic Elementary School.
Medical Officer of Health Dr. Joyce Lock says that they made this mistake public to reassure parents that this does not put anyone at risk.
Because vaccines are proven to be safe, there is no threat to the health of the affected students as a result of this event. Parents of these students have been informed. If you have not been contacted by the Health Unit, that means that your child was not affected.
