KENNINGTON TO AUCTION HOOD OF CAR TO SUPPORT HUMBOLDT VICTIMS
4/16/2018 4:44:57 PM

St. Thomas native DJ Kennington and Gaunt Brothers racing are paying tribute to the Humboldt Broncos.

Kennington raced in the Food City 500 on Sunday and Monday of this week at Bristol Motor Speedway in Tennessee.

Kennington had a decal made up with the logo of the Humboldt Broncos Hockey team, which he placed on the hood of his car for the race.

It was announced on Monday that Kennington and the Gaunt Brothers team would sign the hood of the car and it will be auctioned off. The hood was slightly damaged after Kennington was involved in a crash in the early goings of the race. The proceeds raised will go to support the Humboldt Broncos players and families that are dealing with the aftermath of a bus crash that claimed 16 lives on April 6th.

Kennington finished 27th in the race, which was completed on Monday after it was called off part way through on Sunday due to weather.
