BETTY WANT SCHOLARSHIP AWARDED TO EAST ELGIN STUDENT

Kendra Nesbitt is this year's recipient of the 2018 Betty Want Scholarship. The $1,000 scholarship is handed out each year through the United Way to a student in Elgin County who is moving on to post - secondary education. Nesbitt lives in Corinth and attends East Elgin Secondary School in Aylmer.
   
In addition to her success in the classroom, Nesbitt is also a participant in the local community.
      
She has been an active participant in the Aylmer Optimist Club's annual Toy drive. She has been on the East Elgin School Council for the past two years and has been an assistant coach with the London Lynx Ringette Under 12 year for the past 3 years.
   
Nesbitt will be attending Laurier University in September where she will be studying Kinesiology.
