7/10/2018 10:13:36 AM

Joe Preston has officially filed his nomination papers to run for Mayor in this fall's municipal election. Preston is from St. Thomas and served as the Elgin - Middlesex - London Member of Parliament for 11 years.

Preston had not considered running for mayor until he was asked to run by numerous members of the community.

Preston says that he knows that being the Mayor is about being a member of a team.

Preston says that growing small business, supporting volunteerism and the housing market are municipal issues that are important to him.

The announcement comes just a day after former Conservative MP Ed Holder announced that he is running for mayor in London.

Steve Wookey and Malichi Male are also running for Mayor in St. Thomas.
