3 SEPARATE THEFTS FROM WALMART ON MONDAY

Walmart in St. Thomas was the site for 3 separate thefts on Monday (July 9). Two 19 year old women attempted to hide close to $400 worth of merchandise in a tote inside of a shopping cart. The women attempted to leave the store without paying for the merchandise. The females are each facing one count of theft under $5,000.
         
The second theft occurred when a woman left the store without paying for a $300 vacuum. Police were called and located the woman a short distance from the store. Police investigation found that the woman had trespassed in the store and was on court orders. The 27 year old is faced with one count of theft under $5,000, one count of breach of recognizance and one count of breach of undertaking and one count of trespassing.
             
The third theft occurred when a man put just over $100 worth of meat inside of a bag and tried to leave the store without paying for it. The man was confronted by the loss prevention officer, he dropped the meat and fled on his bike.
        
Police located the man a short time later and placed him under arrest. The man was already on conditions not to be in Walmart. The 26 year old is charged with one count of theft under $5,000 and two counts of breaching probation.
