27-year-old Brandon Willimott of St. Thomas is facing multiple charges after a traffic stop on Tuesday night (July 9) resulted in his arrest. The St. Thomas Police Service located Willimott who was wanted on a warrant for Possession and Uttering Counterfeit Money traveling in the passenger seat of a vehicle around 10 p.m. on First Avenue. The vehicle he was in was being driven by a woman he was on court orders not to associate with.
During the traffic stop officers seized a switch blade off of Willimott who then assaulted 2 officers while resisting arrest before police were able to take him into custody. Once taken into the police station, Willimott became aggressive after officers located Fentanyl that was found in his undergarments. During the search a struggle occurred as Willimott tried to swallow the bags of drugs found. One of the bags of Fentanyl tore open during the struggle and Willimott along with 3 officers were exposed to the drug.
Narcan was administered to the accused before he was transported to St. Thomas Elgin General Hospital. The 3 officers exposed were decontaminated and were able to returned to duty. In addition to Willimott’s original charges he is now facingĀ One count Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking, Six counts Fail to comply with probation order, Two counts Assault Peace Officer, One count Obstruct Peace Officer, One count Unauthorized Possession of Weapon, One count Fail to Comply with Recognizance, and Four Counts Possession of Weapon Contrary to Prohibition Order.
