A confirmed DNA match in relation to a stolen vehicle has led to a St. Thomas man now facing charges. The incident relates back to an alleged stolen vehicle from a break and enter at an Inkerman Street residence in May.
Police recovered the vehicle from London and forensic tests in St. Thomas resulted in fingerprints and DNA samples obtained. The samples were sent to the Centre of Forensic Science in Toronto for further tests which led to the identification of 34 year old James Edward Carroll.
Carroll was arrested on Wednesday (July 11) morning by security court officers at the courthouse after attending for an unrelated matter. Carroll was taken into custody and now faces one count of possession of stolen property and breaching release conditions.
