A 51-year-old Central Elgin man is facing charges after the Elgin County OPP found multiple stolen items on him. In the early morning around 5 a.m. on Thursday, (July 11) OPP officers were on patrol and spotted 51-year-old Ronald Hodgson riding a bicycle while pulling another bicycle behind him on Sunset Road near Southdale Line.
Upon investigation it revealed that Hodgson had stolen items on his person that were taken from unlocked vehicles in the Port Stanley area. He was placed under arrest without incident and held for a bail hearing. Hodgson is being charged with Possession of property obtained by crime under $5000 x2 and Failure to comply with a probation order x2.
The OPP are reminding residents to do their part in preventing property crime by removing valuables from vehicles and remembering to lock all doors.
