The Town of Aylmer will have a new traffic signal at Talbot Street West and Caverly Road. Minister Jeff Yurek announced on Tuesday (July 16) that the Provincial Government will be contributing up to $225,000 towards the project.
The funding is through the government’s Connecting Links Program that the town applied to and will be contributing funds towards.
Yurek says that he’s happy that they were able to support this project that he knows the council wanted to get done.
Mayor Mary French says that the traffic signal is needed for the area.
French says that council has set aside funding for the project in the hopes that they would receive this funding.
While no timeline has been set yet French anticipates that it will be completed within one year.
