Doug Tarry Homes is looking to make their replica Gristmill in the City’s south end a weekend “blitz build.” The proposed Gristmill south of Southdale Line and Lake Margaret Trail near the Miller’s Pond subdivision is being planned to take place over a weekend in mid to late September.
The company is planning to donate the building to the City as a gift for the company’s 65th anniversary.
Vice President of Sales and Marketing Doug Tarry Jr says part of the blitz build is to give people some hands on experience.
Tarry says that the stone building would feature red accents and a functioning red steel water wheel made by local artist Scott McKay. City Council approved the plan in principle.
