An ad campaign about human trafficking will end on July 30th with a celebration at 12 ONroutes across Ontario. Project ONroute will see local dignitaries, media outlets, and Ontario residents gathering together for 1 hour with hopes that those concerned will start conversations and work together to take action to change the trends in human trafficking of minor aged victims in Ontario as well as Nationally.
Project lead and founder of Courage For Freedom Kelly Franklin says the campaign stemmed from a 16 year old human trafficking survivor who was tired of the objectified advertisements about human trafficking.
Franklin says an ad has been running on media screens in ONroutes, bringing awareness to the issue of human trafficking and has had a potential to reach 16.5 billion views throughout the province.
The finale of the campaign will take place on Tuesday, July 30th, also known as International Day to End Trafficking in Persons, beginning at 9:20 a.m. Project leads and local dignitaries will be speaking throughout the hour, where it will then end off with an announcement of a national continuation project that will run into July of 2020.
