The Government of Ontario is helping to make life easier for seniors in St. Thomas by reintroducing driver education classes back to the city. Elgin-Middlesex-London MPP Jeff Yurek announced that the Senior’s Centre in St. Thomas will be the new location for this 12 month pilot project that is set to begin in September.
Yurek says that there is a growing demand for senior driver education sessions to be conveniently located in the community and that’s why they are piloting this service in St. Thomas. The classes will provide seniors with driving tips, updates to traffic laws, and will help to promote safe driving on our roads.
The hope of the program is to save time and make things easier for seniors who need to complete their drivers licence renewal. The program will be available to seniors age 80 and over.
