3 people are facing charges after an organized distraction resulted in the theft of a wallet in the Walmart parking lot. At around 2:30 p.m. Monday (July 29) afternoon the Loss Prevention Officers at Walmart observed 3 shoppers acting suspicious while in the store, follow a woman out into the parking lot.
While the woman was putting her purchases in her vehicle, she was approached by 2 of the suspects who proceeded to distract the woman while the other suspect went into the vehicle and stole her wallet. The 3 suspects then attempted to flee the area in a gold Mazda 5 before police arrived on scene to stop the vehicle and take the 2 men and a woman into custody. Police were alerted of the incident by the loss prevention officer while the organized distraction theft took place.
It is suspected that the 3 had followed the victim to the stores checkout where they obtained her PIN number as she entered her digits into the debit machine. 36 year old Constantic-Ovidiu Marandiuc, 39 year old Catalin Borcoi, and 44 year old Genoveva Zarafan from Romania were all charged with one count Theft Under $5000. All 3 were held for a court appearance.
