Construction has officially begun in the parking lot at the Horton Farmers Market. The beginning phases of the new parking lot located on Manitoba Street north of Talbot Street is currently underway, however it will not affect the operation of the market on Saturday (Aug 3). Manager of The Horton Farmers Market Vicki Asher says that while the parking lot is currently just a leveled gravel surface, the market is open and parking will still be available on site.
As myFM first informed you back in May, the City will be paving the lot at the market and installing basketball courts that will be available for use when the market is not open. A fence will also be added around the lot to prevent balls from traveling onto the busy roads.
The Horton Farmers Market market is open from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Saturdays.
