Two local men are facing charges and $17,000 worth of illicit drugs are off of the streets in the St. Thomas Police’s most recent case. The Street Crimes Unit stopped a vehicle on Tuesday night (August 6) around 9:30 p.m. in the north end of the City that they believed to be bringing a large amount of Fentanyl to the City.
Two men were taken into custody without incident and during the investigation the officer located 17 grams of purple fentanyl and 87 grams of crystal meth. The police say these drugs have a street value of $17,000.
52 year old Dwayne Terry Brown and Donald Justin Kuipers of St. Thomas are both facing two counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking.
The police are reminding the public of the dangers of illegal fentanyl as they say only a very small dose can lead to a fatal overdose.
