A 30 year old woman is facing charges after she left her 4 month old puppy in her hot car. St. Thomas Police officers were called to a vehicle parked on Gladstone Avenue at Metcalfe Street after a concerned citizen reported seeing a dog panting in a car for well over a half hour.
When police arrived on scene they were able to locate the owner of the vehicle who was inside the Elgin County Court House. The 4 month old puppy was then removed from the vehicle where it was said to be in distress. The dog was given water and was able to make a full recovery.
The owner of the dog has been charged Under the Ontario Society for the Prevention of Animals and was issued a summons where she will answer to the chargers at a future date.
