A St. Thomas born Ontario Hockey League player has started a new nonprofit organization that’s aimed at raising awareness and funds for young athletes with type one diabetes. Owen Sound Attack Defencemen and type one diabetic Mark Woolley has launched “Woolley’s Warriors.”
Funds raised will go towards sending kids to “Dskate” camp which is the only hockey and diabetes program in the world.
Woolley says that increasing awareness for type one diabetes is important as not many people really know much about it.
Woolley says that the organization is looking forward to the Owen Sound Attack’s charity game on November 9th where fans can bring in gently used clothing for diabetes Canada and funds will go to Wolley’s Warriors. You can follow Woolley’s Warriors on social media for all their latest updates.
