A 36 year old St. Thomas man has been arrested after he was caught on home security footage stealing a bicycle. Robert Daniel Smith was recorded around 7:30 p.m. Thursday (Aug 8) night walking into an open garage on Warbler Heights and riding away on a bicycle.
The homeowner contacted police after realizing the bike was missing and officers were able to quickly recognize Smith from the security footage. Smith was taken into custody where he was charged with one count Break and Enter and one count Breach of Probation.
Officers are still trying to locate the bike as Smith is not cooperating with police and refuses to disclose the current whereabouts. The bike is described as a 2019 Grey Trek Marlin with yellow grips and if you do happen to see it or know of its whereabouts you are being asked contact the STPS or Crime Stoppers if you wish to remain anonymous.
