Nearly all of the 15 capital projects in St. Thomas for this year on track to be completed both on time and within budget. A report to St. Thomas City Council on Monday night (August 12) advises council that the $26 million capital projects are generally on budget and schedule.
A third of the projects are already complete as a result of early start dates. One of the highlights of the completed projects is the recent opening of the Dalewood Bridge. Other capital projects this year include the $8.8 million Elm Street construction from Sunset Drive to First Ave and the $3.3 million road project on Myrtle Street from Ross Street to First Ave.
The only project that is expected to be completed outside of the expected completion date is Hughes Street because of an extended permit processing time with the Canadian National Railway.
