A St. Thomas man is facing multiple charges after he struck a hydro pole in a stolen vehicle. St. Thomas Police were called the area of Elm Street and Wood Street around 7:30 p.m. after they received a report of an aggressive driver just before the incident occurred. After the collision occurred the driver fled the scene on foot where he was apprehended by officers a short distance away.
Upon investigation it was revealed that the vehicle involved in the accident had been stolen from a St. Thomas residence earlier that day and was also involved in a gas theft in Aylmer prior to the accident.
As a result of the incidents, 36 year old James Brown of St. Thomas is facing charges including Take Motor Vehicle Without Consent, Dangerous Operation of a Motor Vehicle, Fail to Remain, Drive While Under Suspension x 3, Breach of Probation and two Highway Traffic Offences. He was held pending a court appearance.
