The St. Thomas Police are investigating after two separate bike theft incidents on the weekend. The first theft occurred around 3:30 p.m. on Friday (August 16) when police say a man was observed stealing a bike and two scooters from the backyard of a Wellington Street home near Smith Ave.
The homeowner yelled out at the alleged thief which caused him to drop the scooters and ride away on the stolen bike.
The bike is reported to be a blue and silver Gary Fisher model mountain bike. The man is described as a short and thin male that was wearing a grey ball cap.
The second incident occurred on Saturday night (August 17) where a vintage bicycle is reported to have been stolen from the backyard of a Dunkirk Street residence.
The bike is described as a 1980s Blue Angel that has a blue front tire and a banana seat.
If you have any information on either of the bike’s or the described suspect you’re asked to contact the St. Thomas Police or Crime Stoppers.
