A 23 year old male has been charged following a disturbance that resulted in an alleged assault involving a ladder. On Friday (Aug 23) at approximately 4:30 a.m. the Aylmer Police Service responded to a disturbance call at an apartment unit on Talbot Street West. Upon investigation it was revealed that a 23 year old male attended the residents but refused to leave the premises when he was directed to do so. A physical altercation then ensued as the male proceeded to push an 18 year old female from Bayham and a 19 year old male from Aylmer.
After the altercation concluded the male proceeded to leave the residence but on his way out caused damage to the door and a neighbouring apartments window while also threatening to return and burn the house down.
The male was able to leave the area prior to police arriving on scene, however while the police conducted a search for the male he made his way back to the residents armed with a wooden ladder, where he then attempted to strike the 19 year old male.
Police returned to the scene and placed the 23 year old male under arrest where he was charged with two counts of assault, two counts of mischief, one count of threatening, and one count of assault with a weapon
