Provincial police say they’ve laid a careless driving charge in a collision that sent five kids to hospital this morning (August 26).
The collision happened in Malahide, when a minivan left the roadway and entered a ditch, striking a hydro pole at about 7:30 a.m.
There were seven people inside the vehicle at the time, including the five children who range in age from two months to eight years.
Two adults were also taken to hospital and police say everyone’s injuries ranged from minor to serious.
Police say the 32-year-old driver, who is from Windsor, was charged with careless driving. The road will remain closed as long as hydro crews are on scene fixing the pole.
