The Aylmer Police are warning the public to be watchful when booking services online after a local male booked a road test on a fraudulent site. The incident occurred when the 18 year old Aylmer male booked his road test on the site “book your road test.com.” The male then followed up with the local Ontario Drive test centre where he was informed that the site he booked on was a fraud and had nothing to do with the Ontario government.
The male had been warned about he fraudulent site from the Ontario Drive centre in a letter that his mother had, however he still used it which resulted in $145 being charged to his credit card.
The police are reminding the public to be very careful when booking services online. They remind you to make sure that the online site is legitimate and review all documentation that you receive before giving any personal information or provide any payment.
