A hidden treasure in downtown St. Thomas is celebrating their 10 year anniversary next week. Tabby’s Treasures Gift Shop will be holding a special anniversary event on September 7th from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The shop will be offering 10% off and will be celebrating with cake and beverages throughout the day. They will also be supplying everyone who stops by with a free gift as a thank you. Animal aid will also be getting in on the celebration by offering 25% off adoptions to honour their 25 year anniversary in the city.
Tabby’s Treasures is not your traditional shop as most merchandise sold is from local vendors, with a percentage of the sales going to the vendors and a percentage that goes to support Animal Aid in St. Thomas.
The store that is located right beside Animal Aid on Talbot Street has donated over $100,000 to the non profit charity. The shop itself is also run similar to a non profit as well, as all workers are volunteers and the building owners allow them to use the facility rent free.
Shop Manager Pat Bacon says her and the other volunteers really enjoying helping out at the shop and in hand helping Animal Aid.
Bacon says the shop features items for everyone from knitted items to collectables, and even a few pet items for our furry friends.
