A 19 year old St. Thomas man has been charged after he failed to stop for a school bus. The incident occurred on Monday (Sept 16) morning while the bus was on it’s pick up route in the north end of the city.
Witnesses reported the incident to police by calling in the licence plate and colour of the vehicle. The witnesses informed police that a black truck was seen passing the bus while it was stopped for pick up with it’s lights and arm bar activated.
The St. Thomas Police were able to track down the owner of the truck who claimed he had loaned the vehicle to another driver that morning. The driver of the vehicle was identified and found by police, who issued the driver a ticket for $490 and 6 demerit points.
