St. Thomas’ DJ Kennington raced his way to a third place finish on Saturday during round 12 of the NASCAR Pinty’s Series in Loudon New Hampshire. Kennington’s second place qualifying time gave him a great starting spot for the race.
Kennington was able to stay towards the front of the pack for the majority of the 100-lap race. Kennington was forced to pit for fuel during a yellow which pushed him to the back of the pack. It was pedal to the metal when the green flag waved as, Kennington raced his way back into the top 5 with a few laps remaining.
Sitting in 4th on the final lap, Kennington slid into 3rd after two cars ahead of him had contact, finishing in third.
The win moves Kennington into 4th place in the overall championship standings with one race left. The final race will be near Hamilton at the Jukasa Motor Speedway this coming Saturday (Sept 28th).
