There are two upcoming opportunities for St. Thomas and Elgin County residents to hear what the local candidates in the upcoming Federal Election have to say. The Aylmer Express will be hosting two all candidates meetings for the Elgin – Middlesex – London riding. Questions from the public will be a part of the evenings.
One meeting will be held on Wednesday, September 25th in Aylmer at the Old Town Hall beginning at 7 p.m. On October 2nd there will be another meeting in St. Thomas at Memorial Arena beginning at 7 p.m.
There are currently only four official candidates who have filed with Elections Canada. The official candidates are Karen Vecchio of the Conservative Party of Canada, Peter Redecop of the Christian Heritage Party of Canada, Donald Helkaa of the People’s Party of Canada and Richard Styve of the Libertarian Party of Canada.
Candidates have until Monday, September 30th to file their nomination papers.
