A 28 year old St. Thomas woman was arrested for impaired driving last night following a traffic stop by police. Officers received a complaint from a citizen who reported a vehicle that was being driven erratically into town. Police were able to locate the vehicle on South Edgeware Road, where it was determined that the driver was impaired by alcohol.
The 28 year old driver was taken into custody without incident and transported to the police station for further testing. Breath samples were taken at the police station that determined the woman was twice over the legal limit.
The woman was charged with Operation By Alcohol or Drug and one Count Operation While Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration 80 Plus and was released by police on a promise to appear in court.
