A 10 year-old girl was reunited with her stolen bike on Thursday after the picture was posted on social media. The St. Thomas Police posted a picture of the bike after it was turned into them after being found abandoned.
The mother of the girl contacted police when she saw the picture and said that the bike was stolen from them Horton Street home 3 weeks earlier. The bike was not reported as stolen at the time of the theft. Police were very happy to be able to reunite the girl with the bike however they are encouraging the public to report if your bike is stolen at the time of a theft.
Police say that reporting your bike as stolen soon after it occurs can be a big help to them and can help you get it back sooner. They also ask that you register your bike with their free bike registry “Garage529” that’s available through their website. Follow THIS LINK to register your bike.
