Employment Services Elgin is the latest company in Elgin County to be recognized for providing their employees with a living wage. Living Wage St. Thomas – Elgin presented Employment Services Elgin with a certificate on Friday (Sept 26) to celebrate their investment in the local economy.
It has been calculate and in order to earn a living wage to support a family of 4 in St. Thomas and Elgin County, employees must be making at least $16.57 an hour.
Executive Director of Employment Services Elgin Jackie Van Ryswyk says that as a employment service its important to lead the way for the companies that work closely with them.
Employment Services Elgin joins Steelway Building Systems, H.D. Painting, Forest City Castings, Gorman-Rupp Pump, and Clar-i-ty Solutions as companies in Elgin County that are paying their employees a living wage.
