Police in Ontario have cancelled an Amber Alert for five children who were allegedly abducted by their father a week ago but say the search continues.
An Amber Alert was issued yesterday for Eska, Evalyn, Magnus, Mattias and Sovereign MacDermid, who range in age from five to 14 years.
Staff-Sergeant David Shennan of Niagara Regional Police said the Amber Alert can only be for a set number of hours before it times out.
Investigators believe 49-year-old Ian MacDermid took the children from their family home sometime between September 19th and 25th.
Officers are asking anyone who sees Ian MacDermid — who’s described as being white, six feet tall and roughly 280 pounds, with brown hair and blue eyes — to call 9-1-1.
His children are all Asian with black hair, ranging in height from three-feet-eight-inches to five-foot-six.
