A tentative agreement has been reached between the Canadian Union of Public Employees (CUPE), the Provincial Government and the trustee’s association. The tentative agreement announced late Sunday night (October 6) avoids a strike by the 55,000 education workers in Ontario that was set to begin on Monday.
All classes in both the Thames Valley District School Board and the London District Catholic School Board will be running as scheduled on Monday.
The TVDSB says that before school programs will not be available on Monday morning, but after school programs will run. The LDCSB says that Community Use Programs in their schools will remain cancelled for Monday, but will resume as normally scheduled on Tuesday.
