Housing sales in St. Thomas continued to be on the rise last month. The London- St. Thomas Association of Realtors (LSTAR) September report says that 79 homes were sold last month, an increase of just over 8% from the same time last year. The average sale price also increased 4.3% in St. Thomas compared to September of last year at $335,374.
Elgin County saw a big increase in the number of homes sold last month with 64, more than 50% more than the number of homes sold last September. The average sale price in Elgin County increased 20% last month at $426,992 compared to the same time last year.
In the overall LSTAR region 861 homes were sold in September, an increase of 11% with the average sale price up nearly 7% at $412,208.
