Police Service Dog Axle assisted the St. Thomas Police in the arrest of two local men after a homeowner heard someone in their garage early Thursday morning (October 10). The Inkerman Street homeowner near Redan Street called police around 1 a.m. when they heard the sounds.
Officers responded and found that a cooler, tools, alcohol and other items were reportedly stolen. Axle also responded and was able to track the scent which led officers to the cooler and tools a short distance away. As police were looking into the matter they saw two men known to them that were breaking their court ordered curfews.
29 year old Michael Maginn and 28 year old Justin Dobson from St. Thomas were taken into custody without incident. They’re charged with one count of breaching release conditions.
