The Federal Election is less than 2 weeks away which means advance polling stations are opening up. People who wish to cast their vote early will have the opportunity to do so from October 11th to the 14th at many advance polling stations throughout Elgin County. You can find your advance polling station by visiting Elections Canada’s website as many will be set up in the area including at Fanshawe College in St. Thomas, The East Elgin Community Complex in Aylmer, and the Belmont Arena.
Voters are also able to drop in at any Elections Canada office before October 15th at 6 p.m. to cast their vote, as well as mail in their vote with a form that can be found on Elections Canada’s website.
All voters are asked to bring their Voter Information Card as well as ID in order to make the process quicker at the polling stations.
If you haven’t received a voter information card, it could mean that information such as your address is not up to date or that you are not registered to vote. If you do not receive a voters card or the information on your card is incorrect, you can visit Elections Canada’s website or stop at your local returning office to register or update information.
Election day will be taking place on Monday, October 21st.
