The St. Thomas Elgin Interact Club has donated $1,000 to the St. Thomas Elgin General Hospital Foundation. The funds were raised through car washes that took place at Mobil One/Mister Transmission. The funds will be directed to purchase a TV for the Emergency Department at the hospital.
The group decided to support the emergency services department as they felt it was a deserving cause and because everyone will utilize the hospital at some point in their lives.
The group of young philanthropists receive community service hours for the work that they do throughout the year for various different causes and organizations.
The group was given a tour of the emergency department so they could see first hand the impact that their donation will have.
