St. Thomas and Aylmer Crime Stoppers annual “Jail or Bail” fundraiser event coming up this week is now accepting people who would like to sponsor someone they know to be sent to “jail.” The fun event on October 17th and 18th sees people “arrested” and put in a makeshift jail at Geerlinks Home Hardware.
The detainee then needs to raise pledges for Crime Stoppers to post their “bail.”
Constable Lois Hardman says that their bail and jail is a way for them to increase the awareness for Crime Stoppers.
Hardman says that each year the event raises anywhere from $4,000 – $15,000. To sign up someone you know for jail or bail you can call Lois at 519-631-1224 ex 4220 or email at crimestoppers@golden.net
