The Catfish Creek Conservation Authority has issued a watershed conditions statement for the shoreline of Lake Erie. The conservation authority says we can expect winds to increase to southeast 20 knots near noon Saturday, and then southeast 25 Saturday evening.
They are asking residents around Lake Erie to keep a close eye on local conditions. They are also encouraging people to stay away from parts of the Lake Erie Shoreline that are experiencing the strong waves and elevated water levels as 0.5 m waves are forecasted for Friday morning, building to 1.0 m Saturday morning, and upwards of 1.5 m Saturday afternoon.
The conservation authority is asking municipal flood coordinators along the shoreline to monitor the road conditions. This statement will remain in effect until noon, on Monday October 28th.
