Halloween is just around the corner and like most kids, tooth care is probably the furthest thing from their mind. Parents and dentists on the other hand may have a little more concern for children’s teeth.
Dr. Kim Hansen who is the President of the Ontario Dental Association says you might be surprised at which treats are more apt to cause tooth decay.
Dr. Hansen says a better treat is actually chocolate because it melts in your mouth and sticks around a shorter time, causing less damage.
He reminds parents and children that your best bet is to always floss and brush, especially before bed as that is when “sugar bugs” are most active.
