A motorcycle driver is facing charges after the 402 was closed in both directions on Sunday night in Elgin County and emergency crews searched for the driver. The collision occurred in the westbound lanes of the 402 around 10 p.m. just west of Col Talbot road. The OPP say that the collision involved a sedan and a sport motorcycle.
Emergency crews responded and were unable to find the driver of the motorcycle. The 402 was closed in both directions and additional emergency crews including the canine unit were called in to search for the driver. The driver was eventually found away from the scene of the collision by uniform officers.
The highway was reopened in both directions after the driver was found safely. The driver of the motorcycle is now facing charges under the highway traffic act. The OPP’s investigation into this collision continues and they’re asking that anyone with any information on it contact them or Crime Stoppers.
