The Catfish Creek Conservation Authority has issued a gale warning for the Lake Erie Shoreline for Thursday and Friday (Oct 31, Nov 1). The conservation authority says that the winds are expected to increase to southwest 37 km/hr around noon today and increase to southwest 56 km/hr this afternoon. Early tonight the wind is expected to continue to increase to southwest 74 km/hr early this evening.
The wind will then begin to decrease and veer west 65 km/hr later tonight. Friday’s wind forecasted is expected to diminish even more to 46 km/hr.
The increase in wind will also mean high waves of 2 m – 3 m by tonight.
They’re asking municipal flood coordinators monitor the road conditions along the shoreline. Residents are also asked to use caution and stay away from the Lake Erie shoreline. The statement will remain in effect until Saturday at 12 p.m.
