Ontario is honouring past and present members of the Canadian Armed Forces by making it easier for them to spend more time in nature and green spaces at Ontario Parks. Elgin-Middlesex-London MPP Jeff Yurek was at the St. Thomas Legion this morning where he shared how the Province is giving back to service members. Yurek who is also the Minister of the Environment, Conservation and Parks announced that as of November 11, 2019 any veterans and active members of the Canadian Armed Forces, residing in Ontario will have free weekday day-use entry to all Ontario Parks.
Yurek says that this is just a small way they can give back to the brave heroes in uniform and of those heroes who have served our great country in the past.
This is in addition to the Province providing all veterans and active Canadian Armed Forces members residing in Ontario with the ability to enjoy recreational fishing across the province without having to purchase a fishing licence.
First Vice President of the Royal Canadian Legion- Lord Elgin Branch 41 Tony Bendel says this announcement is a little bit of pay back for the work they have done for our Country.
Bendel says that this announcement is a step in the right direction.
