A winter travel advisory is in effect for St. Thomas and Elgin County today and into this evening. Environment Canada says that the snowfall is due to a developing low pressure system which will track south of the lower Great Lakes today. There remains some uncertainty regarding the track of the low, and the expected snowfall amounts.
If you are driving today, travel may be impacted due to accumulating snow, particularly during the afternoon commute. You are reminded that the conditions on area roads can change quickly and you should adjust your driving to the conditions.
Total snowfall amounts of between 10 – 15 cm is possible by the time the system begins to weaken late this evening.
