Braam’s Custom Cabinets is the latest company in Elgin County to be recognized for providing their employees with a living wage. Living Wage St. Thomas – Elgin presented Braam’s Custom Cabinets with a certificate on Friday (Nov 8) to celebrate their investment in the local economy.
It has been calculate and in order to earn a living wage to support a family of 4 in St. Thomas and Elgin County, employees must be making at least $16.57 an hour.
What originally started as a three person operation run out of their family garage, Braam’s has grown immensely and now operates out of multiple locations including a 47,000 square foot manufacturing facility, with 3 showrooms.
General Manager Dave Lebert says they are providing their employees with a living wage because of what they do for the company.
Braam’s Custom Cabinets joins Employment Services Elgin, Steelway Building Systems, H.D. Painting, Forest City Castings, Gorman-Rupp Pump, and Clar-i-ty Solutions as companies in Elgin County that are paying their employees a living wage.
