The St. Thomas Police are encouraging the public to make sure your vehicle is prepared for winter driving as the roads are now snow covered. The police say that over the last couple of days they have responded to vehicles sliding into ditches and minor collisions caused by vehicles sliding on the ice.
The police say they notice a lot of vehicles that have not been cleaned off properly.
Traffic Specialist Constable Chad Nevill says that you should make sure that your vehicle has full visibility before you start driving.
Nevill says that not having your vehicle cleared of snow can result in you being issued a ticket under the highway traffic act.
The police say that safe winter driving comes down to being prepared, slowing down and leaving yourself extra time to get where you need to go.
