Two St. Thomas women are facing charges and drugs intended to be sold on city streets were seized during a traffic stop and search warrant on Tuesday. St. Thomas Police conducted a traffic stop on Ron McNeil Line around 3 p.m. to the vehicle with the women inside that were suspected to be transporting drugs into the City.
32 grams of crystal meth, 7 grams or crack cocaine and illicit prescription pills were seized from the vehicle.
A search warrant of a residence in the city was then carried out where more drugs and illegal cigarettes were seized. In total 35 cases of illegal cigarettes were seized.
In total the police seized $7,300 in street value drugs and illegal cigarettes that they say was intended to be sold on the streets.
A 44 year-old St. Thomas woman is now facing 3 counts of drug possession and 2 counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking.
A 48 year-old St. Thomas woman is facing one count of drug possession and one count of possession for the purpose of trafficking. Both were held for court appearances.
