The Provincial Government is celebrating the 1 year anniversary of the Made-In-Ontario Environment Plan by updating the progress that has been made to date. The plan focuses on a number of different steps to protect the land, water, air, reduce emissions, all while balancing a healthy environment and healthy economy.
Through one year the plan has created emissions performance standards for industrial emitters, created new drive clean emissions standards for heavy duty trucks and buses and initiated an impact assessment to see if climate change is impacting different areas of the Province and more.
Minister of the Environment, Conservation and Parks Jeff Yurek says that a balanced approach to the plan is important.
Yurek says that he feels that balancing a healthy environment and a healthy economy is important and possible in fighting climate change.
