A Elgin County Trustee for the Thames Valley District School who recently helped save 2 rural schools is now the Vice-Chair of the school board. Meagan Ruddock, who is well known around Elgin County as the trustee who put forth a motion to save Springfield and New Sarum Public School’s was recently elected as the new Vice-Chair for the 2020 TVDSB. In a vote that took place early last week, Ruddock was nominated for the position, along with 5 other trustees. In the end it came down to a draw, with Ruddock ultimately being named the Vice-Chair.
Ruddock says that the news is still sinking in for her.
Ruddock says she looks forward to continue to advocate for Elgin County as well as the entire board. This new title comes just 1 week after the motion Ruddock put forward to stop the closing of Springfield and New Sarum went through.
